Navigating the Jewelry Industry
LinkedIn can be a great way to connect with new people. Recently, I connected with a client on the platform who was helping her mother sell her engagement ring and wedding band set.
Because I post my stories (like this one), she saw the type of work I do for my clients and organized a meeting between the two of us.
Like many people who own high-value jewelry, she was nervous about letting go of her rings. I understood this, and kept her very aware of the process.
First, I worked with one of my diamond dealers. Then, we returned to another buyer she had previously met before working with me to review their offer. I also received an offer from one of the many auction houses I work with.
As always, I obtain at least three offers per sale to gain a greater sense of the value of the rings, and ensure we receive the highest value when we sell.
My goal is to always make sure my clients are comfortable with my process to sell their jewelry.
Ultimately, my client chose to sell on auction after reviewing all of the offers we received. She told me how grateful she was that this process wasn't a mystery for her. She admitted she was initially nervous, but because I was transparent about my process to sell her jewelry, she felt very comfortable.
That holds true because with over thirty years of professional experience, I have formed personal relationships with the diamond buyers, auction houses, estate buyers, and individual buyers who are best suited to purchase your fine jewelry for the highest value.
TIP: When it's time to sell, find someone you can trust. If the process is unfamiliar to you, working with a seasoned professional ensures you will have a guide and a liaison.
