Reviving Unworn Jewelry

When it comes to jewelry, we all have those pieces that we just don't wear anymore. They sit in our jewelry box with the thought that we will wear them someday, but never do. That's where jewelry redesign comes in.

Recently, one of my clients came to me with some gold items and pins that she no longer wore.

We tried to sell them as finished pieces, but unfortunately we didn't have any buyers. So, we thought about how we can best use the gold and stones in other ways to turn her unwanted jewelry into something she would treasure.

First, we removed the gems from the pieces, and then created a beautiful sapphire and diamond necklace with varying diamond sizes and sapphires. This necklace is versatile enough to be worn every day, and my client loves it.

She also had a particular pin that she adored, so we transformed it into a pendant. By removing the pin in the back and adding a chain, we turned it into a unique piece that she can wear with any outfit.

Jewelry redesign is an excellent way to breathe new life into your jewelry collection.

When you think about your jewelry collection, which pieces come to mind that can be transformed into something you will wear more often?

TIP:  When considering jewelry redesign, keep an open mind about the possibilities. Even if you're not sure what you want, a skilled jeweler can help you brainstorm ideas and create a unique piece that you'll love.
