Let Your Style Speak for You
"Style is a way to say who you are without having to speak." - Rachel Zoe
My mother always looked put together. Back in the day, women put a lot of effort into looking well coordinated by matching their handbags and shoes. She taught me to do this, and I still coordinate my outfits to this day.
While I don't always coordinate with exact colors, I like to match the tone of different pieces, especially when it comes to jewelry. You can just ask my husband!
As a designer, I can't help but evaluate how hues, colors and intensities all work together to complete a look.
This means when I am visiting gem dealers, I am always looking for gemstones that could be used in future projects.
For example, while visiting a trusted gem dealer, I noticed four nicely matched pairs of briolettes, which are difficult to come by.
I thought they might match my green quartz pendant at home. (photographed)
I bought all four briolettes and additional colored gemstones that day.
I knew that down the line I would use them for either a client or for myself, as I loved the shape and color.
Also, people in my industry tend to collect things; I collect all colors of briolettes.
When I brought them home, I saw they perfectly matched a pendant I already owned and loved. So I created a new pair of earrings to complete the set. Now I can wear them with my favorite outfits!

If you have a piece of jewelry in your collection that you love, you should add matching pieces to it to accentuate your style.
