Has This Ever Happened to You?

Jewelry theft

Isn’t it great when you hear from people from your past? Most of the times it’s for happy news. But in this case, it was just the opposite.

As some of you may have experienced, there are nefarious people out there who will try to rob others of their nice things. An old client of mine recently experienced just that.

Thankfully nothing happened to her during the encounter, but several pieces of jewelry that she had, including a custom piece I had made for her in the past, were stolen.

Strand of pearls and ruby and gold earrings

Along with the shock of the experience, she was hurt to lose her collection of fine jewelry.

She reached out to see if she could create a new piece of jewelry from the items that were left behind, and I was happy to help her during this difficult time.

She had two remaining pieces of jewelry - a pair of ruby earrings and a double strand of pearls.

We had a conversation about what style she wanted her earrings to be along with how best we could utilize as many of the pearls from the strands as possible.

Here are the pieces I created:

Tip: If you keep all of your jewelry in the same spot, it makes it easier for thieves to take it all at once. Keep it in different places, and always under lock and key.
