Estate Sales: Three Services In One
Some of you know that I collaborate with many different types of professionals. One such group is professional organizers, to whom I provide appraisal, design and sales resources for their clients.
This January, a member of NAPO (National Association Of Productivity and Organizing Professionals) reached out to me with several questions about a client's jewelry collection. We spent two (masked) hours together, during which I appraised everything she had. Afterward, we decided which pieces we were going to sell and which we were going to redesign.
I sold multiple items to an antique dealer I trust, and am now working on redesigning two necklaces. We are repurposing several diamonds by updating their settings, and I was able to repair several other pieces.
She had one significant diamond that would benefit from grading by the GIA (Gemological Institute of America), and now we're at the point where I’m shopping the diamond around to get the highest price for her, either at auction or through a private sale.
Contact me with any questions you might have. Meanwhile, take care and here's to some spring-like weather in the coming days!
TIP: In working with this client, we discovered several pieces were more valuable if sold for gold weight than as a finished piece, so I am waiting for the price of gold to climb even higher. This is an ideal time to consider selling.
See You Soon
