Bringing Your Vacation (Jewelry!) Home

A great client contacted me a while back because her husband’s birthday was coming up, and she wanted to make him a special piece of jewelry. They traveled to Africa, through Tanzania, and fell in love with the tanzanite gemstone without buying any when they were there. 

A few years later, she wanted to make him a ring using this really beautiful, deep purple-blue gemstone. 

We found the right setting by researching how the ring should fall on his hand (vertically or horizontally). 

We then made choices about the design along the shank of the ring.

I did some research, and found a style that she thought her husband would really like. Once we settled on the design, I began sourcing the gemstone. Fine tanzanite is very costly, but thanks to my extensive network in the industry, I was able to find a beautiful gem at her price point.

When she approved the stone, I had it securely set. 

From there, I was able to create a ring for her husband and deliver it within a short timeframe of three weeks, in time for his birthday.

TIP: Normally a project takes anywhere from six to eight weeks. If you want something custom-created, keep in mind that we’ll have to allow enough time prior to that special event.
