Charms
Did you ever have a charm bracelet? One that was your own, or one your mother handed down to you?
I do, and I find that most women do. These are highly sentimental pieces that tell the story of your life, or your family's life. Yet, unfortunately most of us keep them in a drawer, not to be worn for many years.
Why? They aren’t fashion-forward right now, and jewelry, like anything else, is susceptible to trends.
So what do you do with a piece of jewelry you love but are no longer wearing? You contact me at JB Jewels, and we'll come up with a redesign you’ll love to wear.
This client contacted me back in February before the COVID-19 pandemic happened, and we agreed to take the charm bracelet her mother had gifted to her and re-create it as two new pieces of jewelry.
She wanted a pair of symmetrical earrings with mis-matched charms that had movement, and I also created a matching necklace with the remaining charms.
During my design research, I discovered a totally new necklace that is all over social media, called a paperclip necklace. The style is perfect for what we needed.
I attached a clip mechanism on each charm which allows the wearer to move the charms around the necklace or to wear only a few at once.
I believe that all jewelry should be enjoyed, and that’s why redesigns are some of my favorite projects.
What was old is new again!
TIP: With the price of gold at an all-time high, this is the perfect time to redesign your jewelry instead of investing in a new piece. Something like this can be done in less than a month.

Jane
